A TrainingPeaks alternative - what you get with no add-ons
Updated:
TrainingPeaks has been the standard in endurance sports for years, and many coaches use it out of habit. A closer look at the pricing shows, however, that a large part of the features is not included in the coach account: the athlete only gets them with paid Premium, billed separately for each person. In EasyTrackly only the coach pays, and the athlete gets every feature with no add-on. Below we show exactly what differs. Every statement about TrainingPeaks links to their own site, because pricing pages change.
The key point in one paragraph
In TrainingPeaks the athlete account is free in its Basic version, and the full feature set comes with paid Premium. The coach plan covers a limited number of Premium accounts, and further ones are paid monthly by the coach or by the athlete (pricing for coaches). EasyTrackly has no split into Basic and Premium athletes: every athlete you coach has the full calendar, the form chart, zones, records, chat and reports. You choose a plan by the number of athletes and see the price in your currency.
What needs Premium in TrainingPeaks and is included here
The TrainingPeaks column describes the free Basic athlete account, based on the Basic and Premium comparison table on the TrainingPeaks pricing page for coaches (as of 28 October 2026).
| Feature | TrainingPeaks, Basic athlete | EasyTrackly, every athlete |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar, step workouts, import from the watch | yes | yes |
| Comments and effort rating on workouts | yes | yes |
| Load and form chart visible to the athlete | coach only, athlete with Premium | yes, coach and athlete |
| Custom training zones | Premium only | yes, separately for run, bike and swim |
| Records and best efforts | Premium only | yes, in statistics |
| Coach notified when a workout is completed | Premium only | yes |
| Billing | in USD | in PLN, EUR or USD, by country |
On its Premium page for athletes, TrainingPeaks also lists syncing planned workouts to your device and strength training tools among the Premium features. In EasyTrackly a published step workout reaches the Garmin or Suunto watch of every athlete - see Workouts on the watch.
What the table leaves out but helps a coach every week
These features are part of every EasyTrackly coach plan, with no extras and no Premium on the athlete's side:
- Private chat with the athlete. A conversation between coach and athlete inside the app, next to the comments on a specific workout. Agreements do not get lost in a messenger.
- Reports and wellbeing. You ask the athlete for a report on a period, also on a recurring basis, and the athlete fills in a wellbeing survey for a given day. You see the answers in one place, next to the workouts.
- Announcement board for groups. One announcement to all athletes or to a selected group, with a read count. See the Announcement board page.
- Sleep and HRV from the watch. With the athlete's consent you see sleep, HRV and resting heart rate from their watch, plus a readiness card that suggests whether to train as planned.
- Athlete payments. You record rates and payments, and the app shows whose paid period is ending.
- Interface in five languages. The calendar, the workout builder, statistics and notifications are available in English, Polish, German, French and Spanish, and each user picks their own language.
- Pricing in your currency. In Poland in zloty with VAT, in the euro area in euro. TrainingPeaks lists prices in US dollars (pricing for coaches), so the cost depends on the exchange rate and bank fees.
What TrainingPeaks does better
To be fair, briefly:
- Advanced power analytics developed over many years (athlete features). We have a load and form chart, but not a full analytics suite.
- Ecosystem and plan store. TrainingPeaks has a marketplace of ready-made plans (pricing for coaches) and more integrations than EasyTrackly.
If your coaching relies on detailed power analysis or you sell plans in their store, stay with TrainingPeaks. If you coach running, triathlon or cycling athletes remotely and want each of them to have every feature with no add-ons, EasyTrackly is the better fit.
Pilot one athlete in parallel
You do not have to migrate anything or decide for the whole team:
- Create a coach account and generate an invitation code - see Inviting athletes.
- The athlete creates an account with the code and connects their watch in their own profile.
- Plan their week from steps. A published workout reaches the watch just like one from TrainingPeaks.
- After a few weeks, compare planning time, contact with the athlete and whether the load and form chart tells you what you need.
Your TrainingPeaks data stays untouched. We do not accept athlete data outside the app - the athlete joins through an invitation and connects their own watch.
Frequently asked questions
Does the athlete pay for anything?
No. The coach pays, and an athlete you coach has every feature with no extra subscription.
Can I use both tools at the same time?
Yes. An athlete's watch can be connected to several services, so the completed session reaches both calendars. Just make sure the same workout is not planned in both places.
How long is the free trial?
You start with a free trial, no card required. Its length and plan prices are in the pricing section below and on the Plans and free trial page.
