Completing a workout

How to close a planned workout: linking an activity from the watch, entering a result by hand, linking from the activity side and fixing a wrong link.

For coaches and athletesUpdated:

A planned workout is closed once it has a result: an activity from the watch linked to the plan, or a result entered by hand.

Calendar

Match from a notification

When a new activity lands in the calendar, the app looks for a plan of the same sport on the same day or the day next to it. With one candidate, the athlete gets a Workout match found notification with Accept and Dismiss buttons. Accepting closes the workout without opening the calendar. With several candidates, the notification shows how many there are and you choose in the workout panel.

Closing from the workout panel

  1. Open the workout

Click the workout in the calendar and choose Mark as done in the panel. On a workout whose day has passed, the same action waits in the This workout is past due box under I did it; coaches see Mark as completed for the athlete there.

  2. Pick an activity or enter the result

In the Complete workout panel, choose Link an activity and select an activity from the list, or Enter manually and enter the duration and distance. A manual entry creates the activity for you. The switch is missing when there is no activity to link.

  3. Confirm

Click Mark as done. The workout is marked as completed and its panel gets a Completed activity section. The other side gets a notification.

You can also link an activity to a workout previously marked as missed or cancelled. Workouts with a future date do not have this action.

From the activity side

In the panel of an activity without a linked plan, the footer has a Link workout button. Pick the workout from the list and click Confirm link.

On a completed workout, open the More menu and choose Change activity. The current activity is selected; pick another one and save. The previous activity goes back to the pool and can be linked to a different workout.
