Where the demo athlete comes from, whether it counts toward your limit and statistics, and how to remove it.

For coachesUpdated:

The demo athlete lets you try the calendar, analysis and comments before you invite your first real athlete. This page explains where it comes from, what it affects and how to get rid of it.

Where it comes from

Every new coach account gets one demo athlete, whether you sign up with the form or with a Google account. She is a runner with training thresholds already set. Her calendar covers the last few weeks with completed workouts and watch-style activities, the current and next week with planned workouts, your comments on two workouts, and upcoming races.

In the athlete list and the athlete picker she carries the Demo account badge, and the header of her calendar and summary shows a large DEMO watermark. Nobody signs in to this account and it never sends you notifications.

What it affects

  • Athlete limit. The demo athlete does not take a seat in your plan limit - the athlete count in your subscription leaves it out.
  • Coach dashboard. She is left out of the athlete count, the weekly summary, team statistics and the list of athletes who need attention. Her workouts and races still appear in the upcoming workouts and races lists.
  • Payments. She is not part of the athlete payments summary.
  • Her own data. Calendar, statistics and workout analysis work for her like for any athlete, so you can plan and edit workouts on her.

How to remove or restore it

  1. Remove the demo athlete

In the athlete list, open the three-dot menu in her row and choose Delete athlete. She leaves the active list and you lose access to her calendar. No new demo athlete is created afterwards.

  2. Restore her if you need her again

Set the Status filter to Removed, open the menu in her row and choose Restore athlete.

Demo athlete row in the removed list with the Removed and Demo account badges and a menu showing Restore athlete
