Missed and cancelled workouts

What to do with a workout whose day has passed: done, not done or moved; cancelling a plan as the trainer and undoing the status.

For coaches and athletesUpdated:

A workout whose day has passed does not close itself: it stays in the calendar as Overdue until the athlete says what happened or the trainer cancels it.

Athlete: a workout whose day has passed

  1. Open the overdue workout

Click the tile marked Overdue. At the top of the panel there is a This workout is past due box with three answers.

  2. Choose what happened

I did it opens the completion form, where you link an activity from your watch or enter the result by hand. I did not do it closes the workout as Missed. Moving it to another day lets you pick a new day - up to 7 days before or after today - and the workout goes back into the plan on that day.

  3. Check the confirmation

After marking a workout as missed you see a message with an Undo button. If your coach planned the workout, they get a Workout missed notification.

To mark today's workout as missed, open the More menu in the panel footer and choose Mark as missed. A workout dated in the future cannot be marked as missed.

Trainer: cancelling a plan

Cancelling withdraws the plan, for example after an injury or a change of schedule. On an overdue workout the box offers Mark as completed for the athlete and Cancel workout. A workout planned for today or later is cancelled from the More menu in the panel footer.

  1. Choose to cancel

Click Cancel workout in the box or in the menu. The app asks you to confirm.

Cancel this workout? dialog with Keep it and Cancel workout buttons
  2. Confirm

Click Cancel workout. The workout stays in the calendar as Cancelled, and the message has an Undo button.

Marking a workout as completed for the athlete works the same way as for the athlete: link an activity or enter the result. The trainer does not set Missed - that answer belongs to the athlete.

Undoing the status

On a missed or cancelled workout the More menu has Restore as planned. If the athlete trained after all, you do not have to undo the status first: you can link the activity to that workout straight away.

Where the status shows

  • In the calendar the tile shows the status, and a missed or cancelled workout cannot be dragged to another day.
  • In the compliance statistics a missed workout counts as Skipped and lowers plan compliance. A cancelled workout is left out of compliance: it neither lowers nor raises it.
  • On the athlete list the Missed (30d) column counts missed workouts and overdue ones without an answer from the last 30 days. Cancelled workouts are not counted.
